FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Finely dispersed particles form explosive mixtures in air.

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE!

  • INHALATION
  • Blue lips or finger nails. Blue skin. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Vomiting. Disturbed vision. Effects may be delayed.
    Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
  • MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain. Effects may be delayed. (see Inhalation).
    Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
  • Redness. Pain.
face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
  • Abdominal pain. Blue skin. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Vomiting. Effects may be delayed.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Wear protective gloves when inducing vomiting. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Consult an expert! Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers. then remove to safe place. (extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
Fireproof. Separated from strong oxidants, strong bases, food and feedstuffs. Dry. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
PALE YELLOW (rhombic )CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
Heating may cause violent combustion or explosion at about 149░C. The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic gases (oxides of nitrogen, chlorine - see ICSC # 0126, hydrogen chloride - see ICSC # 0163, phosgene - see ICSC # 0007). The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts with combustible and reducing materials.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
    TLV not established.
    MAK not established.

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin, and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20░C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the skin even after only minor contact , resulting in dermatitis (effects may be delayed), and the formation of methaemoglobin. Exposure to high concentrationsmay result in death.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. The substance may have effects on the vision.
